Citing a rise in pedestrian-vehicle accidents, Cincinnati City Council is considering a proposal to ban right turns on red lights downtown. Councilmember Meeka Owens introduced the proposal, which would make Cincinnati one of a growing number of cities, including New York City and Ann Arbor, Michigan, that have implemented similar bans to protect pedestrians in busy urban areas.
The proposed ban would encompass the area bordered by the Ohio River to the south, Central Parkway to the north, I-71
